DEARBORN – The Rotary Club of Dearborn seeks golfers and sponsors for its 14th annual Hugh Archer Golf Outing and Banquet at the Dearborn Country Club Aug. 5.
The outing helps to raise money for the Hugh Archer Memorial Scholarship, named in memory of the longtime Rotarian and Dearborn resident. Archer held several leadership positions in Rotary and served as president of Rotary International, the world’s largest service organization with more than 1.2 million members.
Receiving the 2019 Hugh Archer Memorial Scholarship were high school seniors Tanya Hammoud of Dearborn High School and Yasmine Slimani of Fordson High School. The $4,000 scholarships were awarded to recognize each student’s high achievement and ethical leadership in community service.
This year’s golf outing will include a picnic lunch and golf scramble with on-course refreshments followed by prizes and a banquet dinner in the clubhouse ballroom.
Event co-chairmen Roger Miller and Dan Hogan invite individuals and foursomes to attend the day of golfing fun. The cost is $185 for individual golfers or $700 for foursomes, including lunch, golf and banquet dinner. Sponsorships start at $175.
There will be prizes for Men’s, Women’s and Mixed winning teams, as well as two hole-in-one chances for a two-year car lease, two hole-in-one chances for golf getaways, and four closest-to-the-pin prizes.
The DCC is at 800 N. Military.
