ALLEN PARK — A person who was in the drive-through line at Del Taco, 14570 Southfield Road, the night of June 1 said a man in the car behind him became angry when he thought he was cut off and denied his rightful place in line.

The victim said the aggressor, who was a passenger in the car behind him, yelled at him, then exited his car to confront the driver ahead of him, despite the pleas of the woman who was driving the car he was in. The man knocked the victim’s cigarette out of his hand, called him names, then punched him in the face through the open car window. He then sprinted back to his waiting car, which fled the scene.

The victim, who did not get the license plate number of the dark blue or black Saturn Vue, said the aggressor was a skinny young man in his mid-20s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing a red shirt and possibly red shorts, with brown hair.

The Del Taco employees said the general manager, who would be needed to access the security camera footage, would not be on site until the next day.
