WYANDOTTE – Defying the pandemic pressures that have challenged many local businesses, Sweet Arrangements expanded its store and services Oct. 10 as it launched its new location at 3209 Biddle Ave.

Co-owners Phil Rauch and Chris Rollet opened the doors with a noon ribbon cutting, and gift bags for the first 50 customers, five of which contained golden tickets, redeemable for store merchandise.

The new location has space to let them offer baking classes in the upstairs area of the shop to complement the location’s bakery.

Rauch said that despite having to close the doors of his previous store location for three months at the onset of the pandemic, they were able to serve customers with curbside service and delivery options.

He said the bakery has expanded the store’s options, and they hired two bakers from the former Sweet Nothings, who are creating custom-made, freshly baked orders on site.
“We make our own Krazy Poppin’ popcorn, Three Bears fudge and Kookie Bandit Kookies, which we make in house,” he said. “We will also be serving homemade cheesecake.”
With candy being a focus of the Halloween season, customers will appreciate the shop’s variety of nostalgic candy, which can be assembled into gift baskets and arrangements for any occasion, Rauch said.

He said they will soon expand the store’s offerings to include coffee, tea, French vanilla cappuccino and hot chocolate.

Rauch said he and Rollet have been in business for 18 years, and in downtown Wyandotte for the last seven.

“We did receive a lot of positive feedback regarding the layout of the new store and the classes that we will be offering upstairs,” Rauch said.
Cookie decoration and baking essentials will be among the classes offered.

The store will be open 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
