Bagged leaf collection program to ends this week

December 4, 2020 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN – The city’s collection of bagged or containerized leaves that are set on the easement ends Dec. 11.

Individuals should place their bagged or containerized leaves on the easement alongside their trash and recycling carts on their regular garbage collection day.

After a neighborhood’s last pickup, the city’s trash contractor will not pick up any leaves or yard waste in bags or containers until March. Questions about the yard waste collection program, including bagged or containerized leaves, can be directed to 313-943-2433.

A separate program, the collection of loose leaves raked into the street, was scheduled to end Dec. 4.

If residents still have yard waste or bagged leaves to dispose of after both collection programs end, they can drop it off at the DPW yard, 2951 Greenfield, on the third Saturday of each month.

The next scheduled DPW yard day is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 19.
