TRENTON — The victim said he received a phone call from an AT&T representative Jan. 20 saying that an account was opened in his name and that the suspect used his Social Security number, full name and security questions.

Police were informed that the victim opened an account with AT&T about one month ago, but the call from the representative was regarding a fraudulent account. The representative was able to flag the account and the victim did not lose any more from the fraudulent account being opened up.

According to the report, the vicim also froze his credit cards and contacted his credit bureaus about the identify theft. The victim said he did not know of anyone that could have used his identity to open the account.

He was advised to contact police if any other incidents occur.
