RIVERVIEW — Police responded to a house on Riverview Street Jan. 26 to investigate a possible malicious destruction of property. The victim said that the rear window of her red Ford Focus and house window were broken.
On Jan. 24, the victim was getting into her Focus, and when she closed the door a large portion of the rear window shattered and fell out. The report said the resident did not close the door in a hard manner and she did not notice any damage prior. She instead assumed it was too cold outside and the damage was weather-related. Later that night, the victim was asked by her neighbor if she had heard any shooting overnight.
The victim said she hadn’t, and in response the neighbor said he head what he thought were BBs hitting his house about 2 a.m. Jan. 24. When the victim was in her kitchen Jan. 26 she observed a small hole in the window on the south side of her house which was consistent with a BB pellet.
According to the report, the victim thought the vehicle and window damage where connected to the shots her neighbor heard. The house window damaged was valued at approximately $150 and the Focus window at $200.
When the officer arrived to the house, the victim said she had already taken the Focus to get repaired and that she does not know who could have caused the damage.
