ALLEN PARK — Police were dispatched to Target, 2100 Fairlane Drive, Feb. 7 for a retail fraud in progress.
Police were told the suspect had concealed baby formula in his jacket and was walking toward the front door. The suspect was then outside in the parking lot near a black Pontiac Grand Prix. Once at the scene, officers located and handcuffed the suspect.
According to the report, the suspect had two face masks, six Enfamil Baby Formula, Frito Lay chips and Sprite with a total value of$110.82.
The suspect concealed the items in his jacket and sweatshirt. All merchandise was recovered and returned to the store.
The suspect had been observed entering the store, selecting the Sprite and chips from the front before going to the baby aisles and selecting the formula then concealing it in his jacket.
The suspect consumed the food, proceeded to the front of the store where he selected the masks before exiting without paying.
Police were told the suspect is a repeat offender at that store as well as other Target stores in the area. The suspect was transported to the police station where he posted bond and received a citation.
