DEARBORN – Dearborn police officials are seeking witnesses to a fatal pedestrian versus vehicle crash which occurred at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 27 on southbound Greenfield Road south of Ford Road.
Anyone who saw the tragedy are asked to call 313-943-2246, and speak to the Dearborn Police Department accident investigation bureau.
The victim, a 67-year-old woman, was crossing Greenfield when she was struck by a vehicle driven south on Greenfield by a 20-year-old man.
While the incident is still under investigation, alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
Pedestrians often cross Greenfield when leaving the shopping center to reach the bus stop on the northbound side of Greenfield, instead of crossing at the light at Ford Road.
Police Chief Ronald Haddad offered his condolences to the victim’s family.
“This is a terrible tragedy,” he said. “We are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the accident to please contact the Dearborn Police Department.”
