DEARBORN – The Southfield Freeway will close at Michigan Avenue for the weekend, starting March 6, and will re-open March 8, for work on the railroad bridge which crosses over the freeway.

In addition, the northbound service drive will be closed for three weeks, to allow crews to remove and replace a barrier wall, and to install a sign structure support.

The Michigan Department of Transportation said the Southfield Freeway closure will begin at 6 a.m. March 6, with work beginning on the southbound service drive first, then moving east to the freeway lanes, and ending at the northbound service drive.

The freeway closure will run from Rotunda Drive to Ford Road, and will include the east and westbound exits to Michigan Avenue from the northbound Southfield Freeway service drive.
