DEARBORN – COVID-19 vaccines for people who are age 65 and older and are residents of seven communities will be offered March 5 to 11.
Residents of Allen Park, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Inkster, Garden City, Melvindale and Redford Township are eligible. The vaccines are available for these residents through a collaboration between the seven communities, with support from Wayne County.
Appointments are required and must be made online at www.cityofdearborn.org/covid.
The vaccine clinics will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 5 to 11 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn. Use the theater entrance, which is on the west side of the building.
This is not a walk-in clinic and those without an appointment will be asked to make one online for a future time.
Vaccines are administered by the Dearborn Fire Department and are from Moderna. People will be given a date for their second appointment once they receive their first shot.
The communities are following the criteria established by Wayne County for who qualifies for a vaccination. As of March 4, Wayne County has specified that only people who are 65 or older can receive the vaccines. Criteria may change.
