HEIGHTS — Boris Cvetkovski, 78, of Dearborn Heights won $1 million after playing the Michigan Lottery Powerball Jan. 13.
His ticket matched five white balls — 04, 19, 23, 25 and 49 — in the drawing to win the prize.
According to a Michigan Lottery news release Cvetkovski bought the ticket at Food Max, 27333 Cherry Hill Road in Inkster, for $10, good for five plays.
“When my wife and I checked my ticket we went crazy,” he said. “We can’t wait to share the good fortune with our family.”
Cvetkovski recently visited the lottery’s headquarters to claim his prize. He plans to share his winnings with his family.
Powerball plays may be purchased for $2 each at lottery retailers across the state and online at MichiganLottery.com, the news release said.
A “Power Play” option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1.
The powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays and may be watched live online at www.powerball.com.
