MELVINDALE – Three police cars will be outfitted with new computers, thanks to a Financially Distressed Cities Grant, interim Police Chief Dan Jones said April 7 at the City Council meeting.
The city will not have to pay for any portion of the purchase, he said, and the new equipment will be in the squad cars soon.
Jones said the city viaduct concerns have been investigated, and Wayne County officials have been advised of the complaints about the Oakwood Boulevard viaduct.
“I looked through, and I see no actual complaints of vehicles being damaged by any falling property, but they were notified on that bridge,” he said.
Jones said the Dix Road viaduct, which has been discussed on local social media, is “a mess.”
“I know that DPS (Director) Larrie Ordus has been addressing that with the Wayne County,” he said.
