ALLEN PARK — Police were dispatched to TownePlace Suites, 16850 Southfield Road, March 28 on a report of a man walking around hotel property, highly intoxicated and refusing to leave at the request of staff.
When the responding officer made contact with the man and it was apparent by his speech and extremely wobbly stance that he was highly intoxicated. He said he did not have a cell phone to call anyone and had no way to get a ride home.
During the investigation, the man was agitated and uncooperative then began to walk away from the officer toward another building on Southfield. The man disregarded all commands to stop talking away, began running and when the officer located the man he was climbing into a trash bin. He was arrested for drunk and disorderly.
Hotel staff then requested police assistance having occupants of a room kicked out of the hotel, the same room where the arrested man was earlier. About 15 people exited the room upon which two women began fighting with one arrested for hitting the other.
The man was transported to Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn, to receive medical treatment after he vomited and struggled to stay awake. He was cited for disorderly person and released from custody. The woman was transported to the police department where she remained uncooperative during her booking. She later was released after posting the $800 bond.
