Dearborn, Edsel Ford baseball teams to face off in minor league stadium

April 22, 2021 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN — Dearborn High and Edsel Ford baseball teams will face off under the bright lights of a minor league stadium on April 29.

Dearborn will take on Edsel Ford High School at 7 p.m. at Fifth Third Field in Toledo. The field is the home of the Detroit Tigers AAA affiliate Toledo Mud Hens, which start their season the following week. Admission is free.

Dearborn has played at the stadium before, facing off with Lincoln Park during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

“It’s a really cool experience for our players, coaches and parents,” DHS athletic director Jeff Conway said. “The folks at Fifth Third make it memorable by putting the players’ names on the scoreboard, playing walk up music and stuff like that. It will only be made better by having two Dearborn schools playing each other and throwing a crosstown rivalry into the mix.

“Hopefully, we can get a nice little city of Dearborn crowd down there to watch the game.”
