ALLEN PARK — A woman told police April 6 she received three letters in the mail from the Unemployment Insurance Agency stating she qualified for unemployment benefits.

She was advised she was qualified for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, but the woman said she hadn’t filed for any sort of unemployment. Also, she hadn’t given anyone permission to file unemployment under her name.

The woman received the first letter on Feb. 1 stating she filed for the PUA May 17, 2020, but no checks were delivered and no money has been taken out of her bank accounts.

She told police she faxed letters to the UIA’s fraud division in March and was told to file a police report. The woman was provided with a report number.
