MELVINDALE — A shoplifter who targeted hygiene products at Dollar General, 3580 Oakwood Blvd., the morning of April 17 made a clean getaway when he ran out of the store without paying for the items.

A store clerk said the thief, a black male dressed in a black shirt and pants, and a brown coat, loaded up a basket with $20 to $30 worth of toiletries before bagging the merchandise himself and fleeing the store on foot. He was last seen traveling west on Oakwood toward Allen Road.

Police officers checked the area, but were unable to find the thief.
