SOUTHGATE — An identity thief used a Southgate woman’s personal information to process a March 17 hospital admission, using her victim’s correct birthdate but misspelling her last name.

The victim reported the fraud April 20, after receiving an insurance claim through the mail from the hospital. She said she contacted both the hospital and her insurance company, and was advised to file a police report.
