SOUTHGATE — A 37-year-old old man was arrested for disorderly conduct the morning of May 3 after he persistently bothered the employees of three local businesses while begging to use a telephone to supposedly get a ride home.

His quest took him from a Kroger gas station, 16705 Fort St.; to McDonald’s, 16515 Fort St.; and finally to a Meijer gas station, 16300 Fort St.

After responding to several calls and warning the man repeatedly to stop bothering store personnel, police officers arrested the man after he taunted them to do so. He was taken into custody, charged with disorderly conduct, booked and held.
