Public health protocols will be enforced; no Zoom option will be available
DEARBORN – The City Council will hold its May 20 Committee of the Whole meeting in person, and also is planning on an in-person business meeting on May 25.
Those two meetings will be held in person at the Dearborn Administrative Center, 16901 Michigan Ave. Both will begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place in the Council Chambers.
The meetings will be in person only; no Zoom option will be available.
Public health protocols will be strictly enforced. Capacity limitations in compliance with current state mandates will be enforced. All individuals attending the meetings must wear a mask over their mouth and nose and social distance. In addition, everyone entering the building will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms.
In addition to being in person, the May 25 meeting will be broadcast on City of Dearborn Television, which is channel 12 on Comcast, channel 10 on WOW and channel 99 on AT&T U-verse. It will also be live streamed online. Look for the “Watch CDTV Live” button at the bottom of the page.
For those unable to attend or view the May 25 meeting live, it will be available to watch beginning May 26 through the city’s On Demand website as well as rebroadcasts on the cable channel.
The council meetings are not town hall meetings, but do provide for an opportunity for residents to speak on city business, especially on items that are part of the business agenda before the council. There is a three-minute limitation. Those unable to attend can contact the council office and send their comments to [email protected] or call 313-943-2025 during business hours.
The City Council intends to continue holding meetings in person. Changing public health conditions and state guidelines may alter the format in which meetings are held.
Under state rules designed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the City Council had been meeting remotely, using Zoom technology. Their first in-person meeting was the Committee of the Whole on May 6.
