MELVINDALE — A red 2015 Chevrolet Trax was reported stolen May 4 from Care Collision, 4241 Oakwood Blvd., while awaiting repair work.

The business owner said the keys were left in the vehicle because it was supposed to be moved before the shop closed for the day.

It appears that the vehicle thief rammed a chain link gate with the stolen vehicle, damaging the gateposts and leaving parts of the stolen vehicle behind. There were no nearby surveillance cameras.

The vehicle was entered into the Law Enforcement Information Network as stolen.
