DEARBORN — A young Dearborn man running multiple red lights and driving at a high rate of speed in east Dearborn was arrested the evening of May 26 for reckless driving and for having an expired driver’s license, and his black 2015 Buick Verano was impounded.

The driver was recently arrested by another Dearborn police officer, with the same vehicle being impounded.

The police officer first spotted the driver run a red light at Warren Avenue while traveling south on Schaefer Road at a high rate of speed. He ran another red light at Schaefer and Haggerty, changing lanes rapidly to bypass traffic already stopped at the light. He then proceeded to run a third red light at Schaefer and Donald. A traffic stop was then initiated at Schaefer and Ford roads.

The driver was immediately handcuffed, searched and placed in the rear of the patrol vehicle. His vehicle was towed, and he was released at the scene, with instructions to contact the 19th District Court for an appearance date.
