WYANDOTTE – Carnival rides, food trucks and live bands kicked off the summer season in Wyandotte with Swiggin the Pig, featuring barbecue, June 10 to 13 in Bishop Park.

For families with young children, the rides and festival food were the main attraction, while adults gravitated to the food trucks, adult beverages and ongoing live musical entertainment.

Katie and Wes Bradley of Wyandotte said they were there with their children, Ava, 5, Ena, 4, and Owen, 2, to get out of the house and have some fun.

“We’ve had a great time,” Wes Bradley said. “For us, it’s really close.”

“And there is fun stuff to do,” Katie Bradley added.

Dan and Jennifer Emery of Lincoln Park said they came for the barbecue.

“We were hungry, and we knew this was going on, and we like barbecue,” Dan Emery said.

Jennifer Emery said it was a good way to start their Sunday afternoon.

“We definitely had some good barbecue,” she said.
