ALLEN PARK — Anthony Girard, 30, of Allen Park faces charges for allegedly having sexual conversations with underage girls online and attempting to entice them to meet up for sex, according to a federal affidavit.
WDIV Channel 4 reported that there’s probable cause that Girard attempted to produce child pornography, attempted to coerce and entice a minor and committed a felony when required to register as a sex offender.
A search warrant was conducted at Girard,’s house where he was residing with his wife, daughter and brother-in-law. Girard was read his Miranda rights, but said that the only social media he used was Twitter. When police questioned him about an Instagram account he asked for an attorney.
The account in question — Youngmuny1234 — was used by Girard when an undercover detective matched with a user on the chat platform Omegle and moved the conversation to Instagram.
According to police, the undercover detective from the Perrysburg (Ohio) Police Department matched Jan. 5 with the user on the chat platform. The FBI were contacted in May 2021.
“When the person behind the account asked how old the other user was, the undercover detective responded that it was a girl who would turn 15 years old on Jan. 11,” WDIV reported. “The user told the girl he was 30 years old and lived in Toledo, Ohio, court records show.”
The user then asked if the girl was a virgin and requested a photo. In response the detective sent a picture that was age regressed and appeared to show a minor female.
When nude photos were asked for, the undercover detective declined and instead said that a friend had sent nude photos to someone online and had gotten in trouble.
As the user and detective discussed meeting up for sex, the user continued to ask the girl for nude photos, WDIV reported. The federal affidavit said the user offered to drive to Perrysburg in order to meet with the girl.
During the conversation, the detective told the user, “Lots of pic requests but u r sending me nothin,” according to the affidavit. The user sent a partially nude picture showing private parts, but also allowed officials to see a ring on the user’s finger, crutches on a wall in the background and open door showing a hallway with a light-colored hardwood and white-trimmed baseboard.
On Jan 12, the pair stopped their communication with each other and the user did not make a trip to Perrysburg. According to WDIV, officials said the same Instagram account interacted with a 16-year-old girl on Dec. 29, 2020, where they chatted and that the two appeared to have met on Omegle.
“They talked about having sex, and ‘Youngmuny1234’ asked the child for nude photos,” according to police, WDIV reported. “She sent nude photos on multiple occasions, court records show.”
Officials also obtained a search warrant from Facebook for the account in January where they found that the account attempted to chat with a 13-year-old girl but she responded by saying, “dumb b****” and “go f*** yourself be ashamed.”
Girard was tracked to Allen Park by officials through the IP address linked to the user. When police completed their search warrant June 18, they noticed that Girard was wearing a ring that was similar to the one in the photo sent to the undercover detective.
WDIV reported that officials also identified the room where the photo was taken — including a crutch in the closet, the hardwood floors and baseboard. Girard’s wife confirmed that it was his wedding ring after looking at the photo and said that she used a crutch after a surgery and did sometimes place it in the same location the crutches were in the photo.
Court records from the Third Circuit Court show that Girard was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for a relationship involving an underage student in November 2013. He agreed to a plea deal where he pled guilty to one count of aggravated indecent exposure.
All three third-degree criminal sexual conduct charges were dropped and Girard was required to register as a sex offender on the state’s registry as a result.
