Woman who abandoned newborn faces preliminary exam

LINCOLN PARK — Autumn Chennell Tate of Lincoln Park faces a preliminary examination of the evidence against her July 15 in 25th District Court for the murder of her newborn child.

She is charged with felony murder, first degree child abuse and child abandonment. The infant’s body was found March 6 near the bank of the Ecorse Creek, near Fort Street and Goddard Road. Tate was arrested March 30 following a police investigation, and was arraigned in mid-April.
