DEARBORN — A visit to the hometown of Henry Ford must have seemed appealing to an Ypsilanti man the night of July 17, who snuck onto an Amtrak train in Ann Arbor without a ticket because he “wanted to see Dearborn.”

Police officers were called to the John D. Dingell Transit Center to remove the ticketless rider from the train. Amtrak personnel said they wished to press charges.

The man was cited for defrauding an innkeeper, and given a courtesy ride to a late-night eatery to await a ride home.
