LINCOLN PARK — A man pretending to be a DTE working convinced an elderly man that he needed to enter his house, in the 1500 block of Winchester Avenue, to shut off the gas for repairs, but instead he slipped away and ransacked the man’s bedroom, stealing cash from his dresser drawer.

The thief was described as 35 to 45 years old, 6 feet tall, and wearing a tan jacket and a white face mask.
