Arson suspected in vacant house fire

A person of interest is being sought in connection with the arson investigation for a vacant house in the Neckel Street and Warren Avenue area.

DEARBORN – The Police Department is seeking a person of interest in connection with the suspected arson fire in a vacant house on Aug. 14, near Neckel Street and Warren Avenue.

The fire was quickly extinguished, and no one was injured.

The resultant investigation has collected surveillance camera footage of a person who was in the area at the time, whom police officers which to contact.

Anyone with information about the fire, or the identity of the man in the photo, is asked to call the Dearborn Police Department at 313-943-2240, or to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK UP or 1800speakup.org.

Police Chief Ronald Haddad stressed the importance of community members coming forward to help identify the man shown in the photos.

“Crimes of this nature have an adverse impact on not only the homeowners, but our community as a whole,” he said.
