HEIGHTS — Peter Oleary, 43, of Dearborn Heights was charged by Wayne County Prosector Kym Worthy in connection with stealing a marked police vehicle.

He faces one count of fleeing and eluding, one county of receiving and concealing stolen property, one county of unlawfully driving away an automobile and one count of reckless driving charges.

Oleary was arraigned Aug. 16 in the front of 19th District Court Judge Gene Hunt and given a $100,000 cash bond with GPS tether.

A probable cause conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 27.

The initial incident took place about 1:48 a.m. Aug. 13 when Dearborn police officers were dispatched to a bar in the 22140 block of Outer Drive for a reported fight in the parking lot.

While investigating the incident, it is alleged that Oleary stole a marked patrol vehicle.

Police pursued Oleary in a brief chase before apprehending him at Beaumont Hospital-Dearborn, the WCP’s release said. He also struck a parked, unoccupied security vehicle.

Oleary was treated for minor injuries as a result of the collision, the release said.
