LINCOLN PARK — An overnight breaking and entering at Opulence Design Studio, a beauty salon at 918 Dix Ave., prompted the owner to report, on Aug. 24, the theft of $600 in booth rental payments, a 50-inch flat screen television, an $800 Golden Supreme curling rack and 125 blank credit union checks.

A 3-foot-by-5-foot plexiglass window, located at the front of the business, was pushed in but unbroken.

The salon owner said the business was last known to have been secure at 4 p.m. Aug. 21, when the last employee left the building. She noted that the suspect likely left through the rear of the building, since a door deadbolt was left unlocked.

There was no surveillance camera footage, and the business does not have an alarm system.
