HEIGHTS — A woman living in a house on the 5100 block of Westpoint that had burned reported an attempted break-in later that day. She told officers that she believes her house was broken into.

When she arrived at the house, a side window on the south side of the house, and the back window on the west side of the house were both open. Nothing was missing, but the woman said she noticed her dresser had been rummaged through.

According to the report, the resident said her house caught on fire on Aug. 12 therefore the house was unoccupied and already rummaged through due to the fire. She was unable to tell officers what was gone through other then the dresser.

Officers observed the house to be heavily burnt and property such as clothes, and dishes to be everywhere throughout the house due to the fire.

The woman was advised to contact police if he notices anything missing from the house.
