SOUTHGATE — An observant resident alerted police officers to a mess caused by illegal dumping on Aug. 5 behind Beirut Gardens Restaurant, 19045 Eureka Road.
The reporting resident said he did not observe the actual dumping, just the mess it incurred. The investigating officers cleaned up the debris, which consisted of clothes and garbage, and placed it in a nearby trash container before clearing the scene.
