Dearborn Heights Police Chief Mark Meyers (above) and local students (below and bottom) compete in the second annual U.S. Marine Corps Challenge Oct. 9 at Crestwood High School, 1501 N. Beech Daly Road. The fitness competition included three challenges: a 880-meter run, 30-pound ammo can lift, and maneuver under fire, all which are similar to physical fitness training programs conducted by the U.S. Marines. USMC Pooles earned first-place, Dearborn Heights Fire and Police Departments finished in second place and the Schoolcraft College team in third place.
