DEARBORN — When a police officer’s scan of a license plate revealed it may be stolen, a traffic stop initiated on Warren Avenue in northeast Dearborn, on Oct. 28, resulted in the driver and passenger — both Detroit residents — being arrested for outstanding warrants.
The driver, whose driver’s license was suspended, had no registration or proof of insurance for the vehicle, which was impounded, and the license plate was confiscated. He had two active warrants with the Dearborn Police Department, one of which was for larceny.
The female passenger, who was in possession of a syringe, initially provided an alias to the police officers, but her legal name was discovered on identification in her possession.
She had three active warrants with the Wayne County Sheriff’s office, for obstructing police officers, identity theft and prostitution.
Several syringes were found in the vehicle, and a K-9 officer gave a positive indication for the odor of narcotics.
