DEARBORN — A Downriver woman who was arrested for running a red light on Michigan Avenue near Mason Street the morning of Nov. 8, and whose car insurance had lapsed, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon in her vehicle.
The firearm, a semi-automatic handgun, was registered to the woman, who misunderstood the open carry law. After booking, the gun laws were explained to her, and she was charged with unlawful transport of a gun and given instructions to set up a court date.
