ALLEN PARK — The loss prevention officer at Home Deport, 3165 Fairlane Drive, called police to the store regarding an attempted retail fraud incident Nov. 8.

A man was observed on security video purchasing a Dewalt Impact Drill then going into the parking lot to stow the drill in his vehicle. He then returned to the store and selected a second drill. He passed all points of purchase without paying and exited through the lumber doors.

When the LPO made contact with the man, he stopped and retuned the item but while walking back to the LPO office he made an evasive spin and fled.

The man entered a silver Jeep and left the area. According to the report, the LPO was able to identify the man via a photo of his Pennsylvania identification card which was provided by Home Depot regional loss prevention.
