ALLEN PARK — Police were dispatched to Home Depot, 3163 Fairlane Drive, Nov. 7 after the loss prevention officer apprehended a shoplifter.

The woman entered the store through the return doors, walked to the garden department and selected two element heaters and placed them in her shopping cart. She then went to the gift center and put a cordless Dewalt circular saw and a Dewalt impact drill combo kit in the cart. Next, she went to the lighting section where she put a 52-inch LED light in her shopping cart. The items totaled $596.94.

She walked around the store a few times, checking to see if she was being followed, according to the report. She walked passed all points of purchase without paying. The LPO stopped the woman just outside the doors, and escorted her to the LP office.

The LPO told police the woman was trespassed from all Home Depot stores due to previous thefts, and that the store wanted her prosecuted for trespassing. A check of the woman’s record showed several misdemeanor warrants out of other jurisdictions.

Due to the woman being pregnant, she was issued citations for retail fraud second degree and trespassing.
