RIVERVIEW — A man who dropped his wallet the afternoon of Dec. 13 in the parking lot of the Circle K convenience store, 12705 Pennsylvania Road, told police officers when he retraced his steps to find it, it had been turned into the store, but was missing approximately $1,000 in cash.

A review of surveillance footage showed the victim accidentally dropping his wallet, and cash immediately falling out of it, and blowing around the parking lot and near the store’s exterior door.

The video then shows a man spotting loose cash on the ground and picking it up, then leaving the area without touching the dropped wallet or entering the store.

Later, another man is seen picking up the wallet and taking it inside the store to a clerk, who places it behind the counter for safe-keeping until the victim returned looking for it.

The store employees did not recognize the man seen on the surveillance footage who took the cash on the ground. Police officers checked the area, but did not find anyone matching the man’s description.
