Dearborn Heights Firefighters gathered at Kroger, 26400 Ford Road in Dearborn Heights, to collection donations for the Salvation Army by ringing the bell Dec. 18. The annual tradition allows volunteers to participate on behalf of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign across the country. Funds raised make a year-round impact in the community they are collected, being used for social services assistance, homeless shelters, disaster relief, children’s programs, rehabilitation services and anti-human trafficking, according to the Salvation Army website.
