MELVINDALE — When a 69-year-old woman complained Dec. 20 that a white sport utility vehicle kept pushing her waste bins forward when she placed them at the curb in the 2500 block of Margaret Street, the responding police officer pointed out that the area was a designated handicapped parking spot, and that the vehicle nudging her waste bins out of the way had a handicapped plate, allowing them to park in the spot.

The woman was advised to contact city hall to work out an alternate, acceptable placement for her waste bins on pickup days.
