MELVINDALE — A maroon Pontiac Grand Prix parked Dec. 18 at the Gale Gardens apartment complex with an invalid license plate was impounded and towed when a police officer discovered that the plate was registered to a Chrysler Town and Country minivan.

When the Pontiac’s vehicle identification number was checked, it was discovered that a license plate was not legally registered to the vehicle.

The improper plate was seized and taken into evidence. A citation was issued to the registered owner of the Pontiac Grand Prix, and sent to an address of record in the Michigan Secretary of State records.
