RIVERVIEW — An older woman with multiple health problems was rushed to Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital the morning of Dec. 21 after she was found slumped over the steering wheel of her car, which was running and locked, in her apartment building parking lot.

A neighbor, who placed the 911 call, said he saw the woman go out to her car about two hours earlier.

A police officer punched open the passenger side window, unlocked the vehicle, removed the unconscious woman and began CPR until emergency medical technicians arrived.

As the woman was being loaded into the ambulance, her adult daughter arrived, and said her mother was supposed to be watching her children for her in her apartment.

The responding police officers turned off the car and examined the area, and found nothing suspicious. The woman’s personal possessions were turned over to the daughter, and the older woman was rushed to the hospital.
