HEIGHTS — Police responded to a house in the 6800 block of Robindale Dec. 28 for a possible attempted home invasion where the front door and door frame were damaged.

The resident showed police a small chunk of wood that was missing from the door near the door handle, as well as a small chunk of wood missing from the door frame near the striker plate for the dead bolt lock. Police noticed that the damage to the door was not in line with the damage to the frame. The resident said the door handle appears to have been damaged as the top part of the handle was loose.

She had been gone from Dec. 19 to 23 and her husband was at the house at night and gone during the day for work. The daughter was the only other person who had access to the house.

She was unsure when the damage occurred and whether or not it is old damage she was just discovering.

Photos were taken of the damage and tagged as evidence. Nothing was reported to be missing or taken from the house.
