DEARBORN — A Dearborn Heights man was taken into custody for a felony arrest warrant Jan. 4 following a traffic stop for reckless driving on westbound Michigan Avenue in west Dearborn.

The man, who was driving a silver 2021 Dodge Charger at a high rate of speed on westbound Michigan near the Southfield Freeway, was seen driving dangerously, cutting off other drivers, and running red lights.

Following a traffic stop at Michigan Avenue and Nowlin Street, the driver tried to blame his erratic driving on an alignment problem with his car.

The driver was found to have an outstanding felony arrest warrant in another jurisdiction. He was arrested, taken to the Dearborn police station, booked and held, while his vehicle was impounded and towed.

The two male passengers were cleared and given courtesy rides home.
