MELVINDALE — A vandal broke a parking lot fence gate and smashed a vehicle tail light at Care Collision, 4241 Oakwood Blvd., on Jan. 12, a business spokesperson reported.

The gate had wear marks consistent with a hook or strap being used in conjunction with a vehicle to rip open the gate.

Aside from the broken tail light cover on a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee, nothing else appeared to have been damaged or taken. However, the shop spokesperson was advised to check the vehicles in the lot for missing catalytic converters, which have been stolen recently from other nearby repair shops.
