Detroit man dies in 1-vehicle crash

January 27, 2022 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN — A 30-year-old Detroit man died in a one-vehicle crash Jan. 23 at Michigan Avenue and Greenfield.

The passenger, a 27-year-old Detroit woman, was transported to an area hospital where she was listed in stable condition.

The vehicle, a Chrysler Town and Country, was traveling east on the Michigan Avenue ramp to Greenfield when it left the road, traveled through the intersection, and struck utility poles and a tree.

Speed and intoxicants appear to be contributing factors to the crash, police said. The incident remains under investigation.

“This was truly a tragic incident where a life was lost,” Police Chief Issa Shahin said. “On behalf of the entire Dearborn Police Department, I send my condolences to the victim’s family.”
