SOUTHGATE — A man who bought a car from an online auction in Missouri reported Feb. 2 that he was defrauded by a car hauler he hired to bring the vehicle to Michigan.
The victim said he solicited a car hauler online, and paid a $500 deposit using an online payment app. However, once he sent the deposit, the phone was taken out of service, and he no longer had any way to reach the contractor.
