LINCOLN PARK — Lincoln Park Public Schools Supt. Terry Dangerfield said a man in a gold minivan tried to lure a high school girl and a middle school girl into his vehicle the morning of Feb. 9 by offering them a ride to school.
The girls fled the scene on foot and reported the incident immediately to police officers, who were able to retrieve images of the vehicle on nearby surveillance camera footage.
Parents are urged to review safety procedures with children, and to warn them to never go anywhere near a stranger, especially one in a vehicle.
