ALLEN PARK —An identity thief opened a Home Depot charge account at the Allen Park store, 3163 Fairlane Drive, on Feb. 11, which the victim reported on Feb. 21 after receiving a notice in the mail.

The man said Home Depot personnel told him that the application process was captured on store surveillance camera footage, and told him to file a police report to permit the evidence to be released to police personnel.

He said he wished to prosecute if the victim is identified.
