MELVINDALE — A nighttime thief stole a woman’s driver’s license, two debit cards, her vehicle registration, proof of insurance and other identification at 2:14 a.m. Feb. 3 from her unlocked dark blue Acura in the 17700 block of Wood Street, then used the debit cards to pay multiple bills.

The victim said she received a text alert that her cards had been used to pay $8.99 to Roku, $5 to DTE Energy and $35 to Boost Mobile. She notified her financial institution, and canceled the debit cards.

Surveillance footage showed a black male rummaging through her vehicle, then entering the passenger seat of a waiting white sedan.
