Sponsors are invited to support the special occasions
DEARBORN – Fordson High School and DuVall Elementary will both celebrate their 100th year in May, and there are several events and activities planned to mark the occasion.
The public is invited to an anniversary gala May 14 at Fordson. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased through Eventbrite, or in person at Fordson High from 8 to 11 a.m.; or at the door for $25. Tickets include a souvenir, a drink, pizza and dessert. Fordson alumni food-truck vendors will also be at the event.
The celebration is scheduled from 4 to 9 p.m., with a formal program at 6 p.m. that will showcase noteworthy former alumni accompanied by a Fordson alumni band.
Other activities and attractions include a Tractor store, classic car show, a sock hop dance in the main gym, tour guides, showcases displaying various graduation classes, food trucks, and for an extra $5 per person, Tower tours.

Principal Heyam Alcodray remarked on the important role alumni have played in shaping a unified, successful Fordson.
“Countless Fordson alumni have gone on to accomplish amazing things in their personal lives, but have always come back to support the students at Fordson High School,” Alcodray said. “Their contributions have impacted so many lives and are truly the reason that we call ourselves the Fordson family.”
DuVall Elementary will host its anniversary event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 6. The event is free but reservations through Eventbrite are encouraged.
Activities will include opening the 75th anniversary time capsule, 100 years of Ford cars on display, school tours, a walk through the decades display created by students, light refreshments, and music.
Food trucks will also be on hand for purchases, and DuVall items will be for sale. Anniversary items are also for sale through April 5 at https://duvall-elementary-pta.square.site.
DuVall Principal Mary Timpf noted how the DuVall community has been preparing.
“Our students are learning about the history of the past 100 years, focusing on DuVall’s history and the history of the Ford Historic Homes area, where we are located,” she said.
Given DuVall’s event is free, donations and sponsorships are welcome. Sponsorships are due by March 31, and can be completed through this form.
Fordson is accepting donations, sponsors and selling advertising space in its program books. Contact Manal Hammoud at 313-827-7272 or [email protected] for more information.
